At Rio Salado College, we offer four placement options for English, Math, and Reading courses:
Course placement lets us know your level of experience and skill in these subjects and helps us find the right courses for you to start off your education at Rio.
Students can find their placement in Mathematics, English, and Reading by going through one of these two self-placement processes.
The criteria for course placement vary, depending on whether you’re using high school transcripts, ACT, or GED scores.
Must have attended high school within the past 10 years and completed at least 2 years of high school.
Placement based on individual subject area test scores. Scores are valid for 5 years.
GED taken in or after 2014. Scores are valid for placement for 5 years.
