Whether you're planning on going to a four-year university or you're looking to bring your college credits over to Rio Salado, we have partnerships with schools across America to make transferring a smooth process.
Take Your Work With You
At Rio Salado College, we're committed to helping you achieve your academic goals. If you're planning to transfer to a four-year university to pursue a degree or if you're just looking to pick up a handful of classes to round out your prerequisites, you're in luck: Our credits and associate degrees are accepted at universities across Arizona and the United States. Rio Salado's classes are designed with transferability in mind. To help make the transfer process as smooth as possible, we've established articulation agreements with schools across the U.S. These formal partnerships makes it easier to transfer your credits towards specific degree programs.
Transferring to a Partner School
Always make sure you talk to the Admissions Office at the university you're going to go to to make sure that your credits will transfer. Keep in mind that schools do NOT have to have a partnership with us in order to accept our credits—as an accredited institution, Rio Salado College's credits and degrees are recognized and accepted by many schools. It is crucial, however, that you do your due diligence and check with them first. Once you've talked to your school, you can contact your Success Coach and they can advise you further on enrolling for classes at Rio, guide you through the transcript ordering process, and help give you the tools and knowledge you'll need to initiate the transfer process.
Determine when you want to start at your intended university. Contact the Admissions Office early in the process to learn about the application requirements and deadlines, where transcripts should be sent, if any further testing is required, or if letters of recommendation are needed. You do not need to be completely finished with your community college courses in order to apply.
With all of our partnerships, “block” transfer may be available depending on the associate degree and future major. With block transfer, the entire associate degree transfers without loss of credit. An academic advisor can tell you before you take a course if and how it will transfer to our three state universities.
Even outside the partnerships, our courses will most likely transfer. Rio Salado is a regionally accredited institution. Most coursework completed at a regionally accredited institution is transferable to another regionally accredited institution. Contact your future university to verify course transfer.
